Helen & Dorothy is a natural, homemade soap brand born out of my family’s roots in the Lowcountry and Pee Dee regions of South Carolina. It is named for my grandmothers, Helen Burns and Dorothy Wiggins. The palmetto leaf represents the state’s official tree, and the usage of sweetgrass baskets pays homage to the ancestors, who as slaves, weaved the baskets to transport their goods. Helen and Dorothy’s brand colors represent the elements: the sun (yellow), the earth (green), and water (blue). We hope you love our product as much as we loved making it!
